Have You Ever Wondered... How Far Does A Mouse Cursor Travel?
Have you ever wondered how many key strokes and clicks we make, or how far our mouse course travels in lets say one years time? What would you say if you were to realize that someone's mouse pointer moved so much that it could have crossed half the planet Earth if it traveled in one direction.
There are certain things about computers and computer components that very few people ever think about. But if you take a moment to think about them, you just might find some truly fascinating facts.
For example, one study suggests that you can easily travel around 100 kilometers a year with your mouse. The same study suggests that we can easily make more than 2 million clicks in a working year, but one could imagine how that's probably nothing compared to the amount of times a hardcore gamer clicks during the course of a year.
The average for data entry in the United States is approximately 8,000 keystrokes per hour, which builds up to an average of around 16,000,000 keystrokes in a working year, or a couple million less if subtract vacation days.
